Hampden, Sandtown-Winchester & Little Italy
This episode of "Neighborhood Lights Revealed" checks out The Changing Face of Hampden by Isaac Ewart. This immersive installation and sculpture series at the Ideal Art Space and Roosevelt Park explores the ever evolving identity of Hampden by integrating multigenerational community self-portraits with LED and projection mapped masks. Then, you’re invited to a special evening event entitled "Spread Light Sandtown," where artist Malaika Aminata Clements uses multimedia storytelling to celebrate the rich history, culture, and legacy of Sandtown-Winchester. Finally, we’re off to Little Italy, where artist Laure Drogoul indulges us in her installation, The Sweetness of Doing Nothing. She’s transforming Little Italy’s High Street into an Italian Piazza, complete with an illuminated fountain and canopy of lights.
